Description
The Wildcat Lioness is our front pack to run with our Lion harness. It provides approximately 2 litres of additional storage capacity within easy reach of the cockpit of the bike. It features its own retention straps independent of the Lion, avoiding any redundant buckles when not in use. It’s also compatible with every Lion we’ve ever made.
The Lioness is an easily accessible and flexible storage space that provides minimal interference to your riding. Maintaining predictable handling is core to all our Wildcat designs and the Lioness is no exception. It expands our existing handlebar system and complements our frame bag and seat system storage solutions too.

This was my 3rd bag from WildcatGear bought to complement my Mountain Lion on my Shand Stoater with Jones Loop H-Bar for my upcoming 3 month sabbatical which includes 1500 miles and The Welsh Ride Thing. I’ll also be using it on the Ford Fiesta Winter Event.
However, I have also been using it on my Whyte Suffolk Road bike where it fits easily on top of an Exped 13 litre drybag in the Mountain Lion.
The extra capacity is really good for solid items like tablet, wallet, phone charger etc (all of which are not good in a lightweight dry bag). It makes them easily accessible). I also shoved some extra food in which was really handy on my longest day ride so far. That was over 125 miles with a business meeting in the middle, so I was carrying my work clothes. Did the job without any fuss despite some horrible weather. See a picture at https://www.flickr.com/photos/davew42/15294590155
I did wonder if it would be better to have mixed male/female clips on the bag straps (at the moment the straps which attach to the bike are all female and the straps on the bike all male) that would allow the straps to clip together neatly when off the bike. However, this way you gain flexibility in how you put the mounting straps on the bike handlebar as they can be either way round. As I use it on very different bikes (Whyte road bike with drop handlebars and Shand Stoater with Jones Loop H-Bar) the flexibility is handy.
It is quicker to fit than a Mountain Lion and increases the sense of security with which the dry bag inside the Mountain Lion is held.
As usual the zips, mesh pocket and rest of the construction is top quality and the bright inside colour really does make it easier to find things.
If you have a Mountain Lion then a Lioness really is a no brainer addition.

I own bike luggage by Wildcat, Alpkit and Ortlieb, but have to say the lioness tips the scales as the most useful thing I have every brought for bike travel. Well done Wildcat.

This is my fourth Wildcat product, and I have to admit it has not had as much use as the other stuff. There are a few reasons for this; primarily I just like to go ultra-light, and fewer bags means less temptation to fill them with stuff. I also prefer to minimise weight on the bars, so invested in some super light bivi kit, to the extent that I don’t need the extra capacity of the Lioness on most summer trips.
At 157g, it is not heavy; about the same as two stem bags, but I prefer the accessibility and flexibility offered by stem bags – perhaps that will be the next Wildcat product? However, sometimes you do just need that extra bag that is accessible on the move (especially in winter), and this is a great option when that is the case. I have used it successfully on straight and Jones bars, together with a Lion harness. I am experimenting with using it without the harness (and just a dry bag) on the Jones bars (to reduce weight), but don’t have enough time in to draw conclusions on that yet! If that fails, I will be investing in a Tom Cat – the Jones bar’d bike is my ‘tourer’ for those longer trips where comfort trumps speed and I need extra capacity for luxuries, or just more food!
As always with Wildcat, the details and finishing are as good as my expensive Revelate bags (often considered the bench mark) and better made than the Alpkit stuff. If you need that on-the-fly front bag, this is definitely a good choice.

Excellent quality. A little bit of extra space when needed.
